Lamisil 250mg Tablets (Terbinafine)

Lamisil is an antifungal medication used primarily for the treatment of fungal infections, particularly those affecting the mouth and/or skin. It may also be used for menstrual disorders, gynaecomastia, urinary symptoms (such as difficulty in completely emptying the bladder and/or reduced urine flow), and fungal infections of the skin, including skim, wound healing, and sexually transmitted infections (eg, gonorrhoea, chlamydia).

How Does Lamisil Work?

Lamisil tablets contain tadalafil as the active ingredient. This medicine works by inhibiting the enzyme called thromboxane B citrate kinase (TK) which is involved in breaking down the nucleotides in the form of acenocoumarin molecules. This results in increased levels of TK causing increased fungal growth and eventually, increased cell death. TK is typically blocked by CYP3A4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 21. These 21 substrates play a crucial role in the synthesis of fungal cell walls.
